The Department of ECE started functioning in the year 2010 with an intake of 60 students. To provide quality world-class education successfully, it is absolutely essential that the efforts of the Faculty and students are to be backed up by proper infrastructure. No stone has been left unturned in the quest to provide infrastructure and facilities that are of the highest standards or comparable to the best anywhere. Improvement and upgradation of the infrastructure is continuous ongoing process in the department. The strength of any educational program can be measured by the quality of its Faculty. In the department, all the faculty members are highly qualified, competent and hand-picked for their long teaching, industrial and research experience. The Department organizes guest lectures, work shop to enhance the knowledge in advanced fields.
JOB OPTIONS AND CAREER PROSPECT
Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) is a challenging course allowing several specializations such as VLSI design, Digital Electronics including Microprocessor and microcontroller Design, Embedded Systems , Signal Processing and Communication- Satellite & Mobile, etc. Students joining this course at VVCOE will have very good opportunity to excel in Academics and all round personality development. A E&C graduate has the option of selecting a career path in Electronics, Telecommunication, Medical Electronics, Automotive Electronics, Aerospace, Software and IT. INFRASTRUCTURE and LAB FACILITIES
The Department is well equipped with sophisticated equipments and the students are trained to handle them with confidence, so that they can compete with the recent trends in the industry. All laboratories are modernized and varieties of trainer kits are provided in all the laboratories to conduct experiments. Well-qualified and experienced instructors are also training the students in the laboratory. The major laboratories are :
1. CIRCUITS & DEVICES LAB
Circuits & devices Lab helps the students to acquire basic knowledge about the electronic devices like diode, transistor and thyristor families. It comprises basic electron devices and circuits lab I and II well equipped with 30 CROs, sufficient number of function generators with various ranges of frequencies, regulated power supplies and trainer kits to enable students to perform basic experiments in analog and digital electronics. In devices lab all the device characteristics are studied. In circuits lab, the basic circuits for amplifiers and oscillator are designed, fabricated and tested. This lab also provides the facility of designing power supplies, regulators etc.
2. DIGITAL SYSTEM LAB
Digital Laboratory is equipped with different types of logic gates, flip flops and counters which enhances the students’ knowledge. This lab also provides the facility of learning the basic methods for the design of digital circuits and provides the fundamental concepts used in the design of digital systems.
3. COMMUNICATION LAB
Communication Engineering laboratory focuses on training the students in both analog and digital transmission/reception of signal. The students are trained for constructing the circuits of amplitude modulation, frequency modulation and phase modulation and various digital communication techniques.
4. MICROPROCESSOR LAB
Microprocessor lab is equipped with 8085, 8086 microprocessor kits, 8051 microcontroller kit along with their peripheral devices like 8255,8259,8253,8251. Interfacing of peripheral modules like ADC, DAC, stepper motor and traffic controller are performed to demonstrate the detailed applications of microprocessors
5. INTEGRATED CIRCUITS LAB
IC LAB is equipped with advanced IC trainer kits, Op – amp trainer kits, CROs and function generators to expose the students in the design and analysis of linear and digital circuits. All analog and digital I.C related experiments can be carried out. The testers for IC are also available.
